Alford — We’ve been looking at energy policy since 1996. And we are referring to the experts, regardless of their color. And for someone to tell me, an African-American, college-educated veteran of the United States Army, that I must contend with some other “black group” and put aside everything else in here — This has NOTHING to do with the NAACP, and really has nothing to do with the National Black Chamber of Commerce. We’re talking about energy.

Well there’s not much to add to that except — hehe.

It took me three tries to get through that video. Boxer’s performance left me nauseous. She really sees nothing wrong with balancing the opinion of one black man or black group with that of another. I have no idea what the basis for NAACP resolution was, but Mr. Alford had every right to be offended at the tactic.

By the way, the Pew report she mentioned is available here:

    http://www.pewcenteronthestates.org/uploadedFiles/Clean_Economy_Report_Web.pdf

The report does indeed state that the rate of job growth in the clean energy economy exceeds that of the rest of the economy, but those jobs account for a half percent of American jobs and they are primarily service jobs, not production. I imagine the same claims of growth could have been made for the gambling industry not so long ago, but it would have been a poor basis for the entire economy.

It’s about time someone put the Botox Bitch in her place, not that it phased her.

I’ve long held a personal theory that Boxer and her ilk are closet (though, hopefully, unconscious) racists who happily exploit black people for personal gain and power. They are the philosophical descendants of white slave owners who perceived black people to be a “degraded caste” that had to be managed by the superior whites. Blacks who agreed with the white view (here, illustrated by the NAACP) were rewarded with, at the very least, a sort of feigned respect; those who saw themselves as equal to whites were punished and further degraded.

Her racism is so thoroughly ingrained in her that she is apparently unaware of it. But it is very clearly there, none-the-less. Just listen to the patronizing tone she takes with Mr. Alford if you don’t think I have a legitimate point.

2 Indeed. But there is a more fundamental issue, which is the left-liberal collectivist view that rejects individuality in favor of groups. The “conservative” alternative is simply to treat people as individuals.

Tell me you don’t see the similarity:

“This is not an opportunity to talk about difficult matters privately or in a closed environment. This is a circus. It is a national disgrace. And from my standpoint, as a black American, as far as I am concerned, it is a high-tech lynching for uppity-blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that, unless you kow-tow to an old order this is what will happen to you, you will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured by a committee of the U.S. Senate, rather than hung from a tree.”~Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, during his Senate confirmation hearing.

    RE: #4

Your quote from Justice Thomas illustrates the point I was trying to make in comment #2.

Thanks for finding & posting it!

This is the same person that dressed down a U.S. General for calling her Mam. Which is appropriate Military protocal, something she obviously knows, nor cares, anything about.
