One Hour Left

Lucia called my attention to this email so I thought I’d put it up.
I don’t have the ability to get a recording of this conference call but I would like it if someone did (11AM Eastern). As we head into Copenhagen where our fearless leader will ignore anything said by his constituents the Soros funded lackies are getting a conference call together for discussion of taking action and pushing forward with the extremist agenda of Copenhagen.
I am thoroughly surprised that Mann and Schmidt would do this. Romm is already a paid Soros stooge and we do know already that Real Climate is hosted by a ‘Progress’ group but they claim no real association. Today that auspice of science before politics ends. Today Mann and Schmidt are coming out in full support of the Copenhagen agenda for ‘mitigation’ of global economy and wealth redistribution through a global government with the power to tax and redistribute based on their vision of the environment.
PRESS CALL TOMORROW: Climate Science – Setting the Record Straight
*Michael Mann*, A Leading Climate Scientist and Professor of Meteorology at
Pennsylvania State University Whose Hacked Personal Emails Have Recently
Become the Source of Media Attention Will Be Joined By NASA Climate
Scientist *Dr. Gavin Schmidt*, Princeton’s *Dr. Michael Oppenheimer*, and
CAP Senior Fellow *Dr. Joseph Romm* to Discuss the Overwhelming Scientific
Understanding of the Danger Posed by Unmitigated Global Warming Pollution,
and That the Stolen Emails Reveal Nothing That Changes Our Extensive
Understanding of Climate Science, Tomorrow, *Friday December 4 at 11:00 AM
Leaders from 190 nations are meeting in Copenhagen next week because they
understand the science behind climate change is real, and that the evidence
is growing stronger that each day we delay to address the problem increases
the danger to our planet and our economy. Against this backdrop, opponents
of action –who have been ignoring the unequivocal scientific evidence and
misrepresenting the facts for decades– are now exaggerating and distorting
a batch of stolen emails from prominent climate scientists in a further
effort to block action. Opponents of cleaner energy have, since the 1970s,
systematically attacked and politicized sound science in an attempt to widen
the partisan divide and mislead the public. The global consensus on climate
change science has been reached by through decades of work by thousands of
independent scientists from different institutions in nations around the
world. Now more than ever it is critical for Americans to understand that
the scientific evidence that climate change poses a very real threat to our
health, economy, and planet has never been clearer. Tomorrow Michael Mann, a
leading climate scientist and author of part of the IPCC third assessment
report, along with IPCC participant Dr. Michael Oppenheimer of Princeton,
and Dr. Gavin Schmidt of NASA, will discuss the mounting scientific evidence
since the IPCC’s 2007 assessment report, and why it is in fact more clear
now than ever before that we must take action to solve the global climate

*What:* Press Conference Call to with three leading climate scientists to
discuss the state of climate science against the backdrop of the
Climategate/email affair. The panel will explain the context for some of the
emails and why they do not alter the overwhelming scientific understanding
of the danger posed by unrestricted greenhouse gas emissions — an
understanding that has only grown stronger in recent years.
American Progress is part of a massive network of (non-political) 501C corporoations supporting wealth redistribution under the same auspices used to sell socialism to populations. Help the poor. We know (as do the wealthy who fund these groups) that helping the poor is what represses their ability to help themselves. While they must declare non-partisanship to get tax free money, 501C’s are nearly always politically motivated and therefore illegal. The progress groups are the worst offenders.
Copenhagen is extremism in a way people don’t understand. The proposed treaty is here — http://wattsupwiththat.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/un-fccc-copenhagen-2009.pdf
Here are some quotes:
Measurable, reportable and verifiable financing, technology transfer and compensation must be provided by developed countries to address the full costs of adaptation in developing countries, supported by appropriate institutional arrangements under the Conference of the Parties.
Mitigation must be unlimited and powerful.
Scientific evidence shows that the global costs of mitigation and adaptation to the adverse effects of climate change will soar if mitigation efforts are timid, fragmented and restricted.
Here it is being defined on a per capita basis. Meaning free countries with successful economic systems that provide for the rest of the world should be taxed for their success and their wealth redistributed to repressive regimes. My bold:
The difference between the assigned amounts of Annex I Parties and their actual GHG emissions shall be quantified [as an increase in their emissions debt/accumulated per capita emissions/use beyond their equitable allocation of the global atmospheric resources] [and shall provide the basis of] [as an input for the consideration of] fulfillment by Annex I Parties of their commitments to provide financing, technology and compensation to developing countries for mitigating and adapting to climate change.
Here it is again:
In the light of a shared vision based on historic responsibility/emissions, debt/per-capita emissions convergence/an equitable allocation of a shared atmospheric resource,
Shared vision of historic responsibility – do you get that wording? Per -capita emissions – completely ignoring that working governments allow people to export to the world not just ourselves.
Annex I Parties shall provide new and additional financial resources to meet the full costs incurred by developing country Parties [in complying with their obligations under Article 12, paragraph 1, and the full incremental costs of implementing measures that are covered by Article 4, paragraph 1] [, particularly the most vulnerable countries including LDCs and SIDs, of meeting their commitments, towards the full, effective and sustained implementation of the Convention]. They shall also provide new and additional funding to cover the full incremental costs incurred by developing countries in implementing nationally appropriate mitigation actions undertaken in the context of sustainable development.
All this framework is to be controlled by the COP under the following groups:
38. The scheme for the new institutional arrangement under the Convention will be based on three basic pillars: government; facilitative mechanism; and financial mechanism, and the basic organization of which will include the following:
(a) The government will be ruled by the COP with the support of a new subsidiary body on adaptation, and of an Executive Board responsible for the management of the new funds and the related facilitative processes and bodies. The current Convention secretariat will operate as such, as appropriate.
(b) The Convention’s financial mechanism will include a multilateral climate change fund including five windows: (a) an Adaptation window, (b) a Compensation window, to address loss and damage from climate change impacts, including insurance, rehabilitation and compensatory components, (c) a Technology window; (d) a Mitigation window; and (e) a REDD window, to support a multi-phases process for positive forest incentives relating to REDD actions.
(c) The Convention’s facilitative mechanism will include: (a) work programmes for adaptation and mitigation; (b) a long-term REDD process; (c) a short-term technology action plan; (d) an expert group on adaptation established by the subsidiary body on adaptation, and expert groups on mitigation, technologies and on monitoring, reporting and verification; and (e) an international registry for the monitoring, reporting and verification of compliance of emission reduction commitments, and the transfer of technical and financial resources from developed countries to developing countries. The secretariat will provide technical and administrative support, including a new centre for information exchange.
The COP is all parties that sign up. So we’ll have a few free nations who’s climate tax is determined by the unelected representatives from a huge number of climate oppressed nations. We will have essentially no vote in the funds taken from us. Gee I wonder if the enlightened government of Pakistan, Venezuela or Zimbabwe would like some money to help them ‘mitigate’ climate. I wonder how they will vote at Copenhagen.
In addition to the helping out the poor hard working communist countries, we also agree to this:
Annex I Parties collectively, whether or not Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, must reduce their emissions by at least 45 per cent below 1990 levels by 2020 and by more than 95 per cent below their 1990 levels by 2050.
There are of course subltly worded ‘enforcement’ clauses and rules which make it impossible for wealthy countries to change their commitments.
I wonder if people will think differently about the political extremists controlling once free countries around the world or will the real news channels like CNN, CBS, NBC,MSNBC, PBS all be able to sell it successfully to the inner city poor folk as a pile of happy roses.
