Stop Them

If you can’t stop the science, then you have to look elsewhere.

Phil,

I would not respond to this. They will misrepresent and take out of context anything you give them. This is a set up. They will certainly publish this, and will ignore any evidence to the contrary that you provide. They are going after Wei-Chyung because he’s U.S. and there is a higher threshold for establishing libel. Nonetheless, he should consider filing a defamation lawsuit, perhaps you too.

I have been talking w/ folks in the states about finding an investigative journalist to investigate and  expose McIntyre, and his thusfar unexplored connections with fossil fuel interests.Perhaps the same needs to be done w/ this Keenan guy.

I believe that the only way to stop these people is by exposing them and discrediting them.

Do you mind if I send this on to Gavin Schmidt (w/ a request to respect the confidentiality with which you have provided it) for his additional advice/thoughts? He usually has thoughtful insights wiith respect to such matters,

mike

Cuccinelli must have been busy elsewhere. Oh, wait, he’s no investigative journalist.

I guess Michael Mann must have lived a very sheltered life. He really seems to believe that Steve’s readers would become more cautious about him, if only they knew about his connections to industry.

Considering the man is now officially the chairman of a mining company, to the consternation of pretty much nobody, we can all see how realistic that was.

Politics was always played this way. Even in America. Is science different? In the short run no. In the long run yes.

Look up “Edison, Tesla, Current Wars”. For an example from an earlier era.

  4. Mike was partially right.

We need an investigative journalist to investigate and expose the abuse in diverse fields of government science since ~1971 [1], ranging alphabetically from astronomy and astrophysics through climatology and cosmology and continuing on through nuclear, particle, planetology, and solar physics [2-5].

Today, as our social and economic systems crumble, world leaders have apparently encouraged the 5-10 thousand physicists that could not or would not acknowledge neutron repulsion (in nuclear rest mass data of every nucleus with two or more neutrons)

    – the energy source that actually powers the Sun, controls Earth’s constantly changing climate, and sustains life on Earth and in our dynamic, expanding universe [2-5] –

to divert attention by suggesting they are on the verge of discovering the “God particle!”

Would love to have Mr. Jones explain how that statement could possibly be taken out of context !!!

Jeff – that is just WAYYY out of context! I’m QUITE sure that the REAL conversation went down something like this…

Mike (on phone0: Hey Phil. I just came up with the greatest practical JOKE we could play on our good buddies McIntyre and Keenan!

    Phil: What’s that, Mike?

Mike: Well, I’ll write you an e-mail saying that I want to…ummm…have a journalist investigate them and their connections to fossil fuel interestes, AND that we want to…ummm…ummm…

    Phil: Discredit them?

Mike: Yeah! Discredit them! Ha Ha Ha! And…and (laughing) …I’ll send you the e-mail now. THEN 4 years from now, we’ll “secretly” release an “Archive” of our e-mails!! And they’ll find this e-mail, and…haw haw haw…it will be SOOOOOO funny! All our buds at the AGU will just bust a gut laughing!!

Phil: Har har har!! (wiping tears from his eyes) I can’t WAIT to see the looks on their faces! Then, of course, we’ll fess up and let them know it was ALL just a big practical joke!!

Mike: Yep – no one does practical jokes in climate science like US, right Phil?

    Phil: Right you are Mike!

What kind of fossil fuels does his company mine and why would you have a problem with a retiree trying to supplement his retirement income?

Penn State faculty according to a new ESPN piece are afraid the Sandusky trial will be a “whitewash.” I guess with their first hand knowledge of whitewashes they should be.

In Climate Science, where it seems that even the ironies have ironies, none are as rich as the Nixonian rants of Mike Mann. It takes a special lack of self-awareness to behave like a power-mad meglo and fail to recognize one’s resemblance to liberaldom’s most detested politician in American history.

This is straight out of the Leftist playbook. If you are losing the battle over the message then try to discredit the messenger.
