    I ran across some interesting data files from Oct 2007 that were in the Climategate 1 data dump. So I decided to plot them and see what story they told.

    Sadly, all I ended up with was a lot more questions. Like how you can average 6 regions and end up with more variability than the simple average of the 6. New-fangled math, all the rage.

    I better tell you about it Jeff, because I note commenters elsewhere wondering what you think of it. There is a very interesting poster at Tallbloke’s Talkshop and at Watts Up by a coupla fellas named Nikolov and Zeller which purports to be a new Unified Theory of Climate. There are many doubts, but some heavy hitters are already impressed. Me? Makes sense to me.
