An untrained janitorial-level slave-wages person whose job-description required him/her to empty such receptacles into an incinerator, INSTEAD, was in the habit of “harvesting” the remains of animal corpses to take across the block to the Wuhan bush-meat market and sell. Your scenario is completely possible, but since the WUHAN lab had a poor safety record, I would think they just f*cked up in the lab.
Viruses are very small. I think it more likely that some handling protocol was broken and a scientist became infected simply because the spike was designed for humans, but who knows. I’m making a random guess.
While Peter Daszak’s intent to create the covid-ace2 variant is blatantly exposed, I doubt distribution was intent, but people are a little crazy and Peter had no control over an angry worker.
