Ten Global Warming Myths

Posted by Jeff Id on December 6, 2008

Myth #1 – Temperatures are warmer today than ever in history.

The truth is we’re certain that temperatures were hotter than today in the past but how long ago we really don’t really know. The most popular temperature reconstructions are full of flawed math and data. Others don’t have enough verification to rely on them. Several show global temperatures 1000 years ago which are much higher than today and 3000 year old plants and trees have been found under retreating glaciers.

Myth #2 – There is a consensus among climatologists about global warming.

Most climatologists probably agree, but climatology is a small field funded by government organizations. Those who disagree openly, receive little funding but they do still exist. Weathermen, chemists, physicysts, foresters, solar experts, engineers and thousands of informed people recognize the issue isn’t settled.

The Changing Earth

Posted by Jeff Id on September 17, 2008

I didn’t feel very inspired today until I ran across an article on the violence of earths history. I want to write about that now. For those who read my blog regularly, you know that I feel it is clear that the world governments are the primary drivers behind the global warming rhetoric and science. Some day I will post on how the governments are using the scientists but that is a different subject.

Another Reasonable Denier

Posted by Jeff Id on September 8, 2008

There seem to be alot of these guys.  Scientists who are not screaming catastrophe from the highest tower.  Heres the link

Global Warming’s Kaput; 2008 Coolest in 5 Years

The scientist says the same things I am trying to tell my  readers.

Predictions of a gradual increase in temperatures called global warming are erroneous, Velasco Herrera told a conference at the Centre for Applied Sciences and Technological Development regarding predictions of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), according to Mexico’s melenio.Com.

The IPCC models and forecasts are wrong because they are based only on “mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity,” he said.

The phenomenon of climate change should include other kinds of factors, both internal, such as volcanoes and the very human activity, and external, such as solar activity, he said.

When one guy is screaming at you to change your ways and another guy is calmly showing the problems in his logic, who would you believe?

How to Make a Hockey Stick – Paleoclimatology (What they don’t want you to know)

Posted by Jeff Id on September 4, 2008

I just learned something today which has left a sick feeling in my stomach.  I learned how the latest Mann et al hockey stick graph was created.  So you don’t have to read the paper HERE, I’m going to summarize the result.

This time Mann avoided all the tree ring reconstructions from the old hockey stick because of a problem with what is termed Divergence.  Divergence means the data don’t correlate well in recent times (last 130 years).  Scientists know that a high percentage of trees “temperature” data don’t fit well when compared to the warming trend of earth – measured data.   To sort the data, they correlate the data, which is very noisy and doesn’t look like a temperature measurement at all by measuring its statistical significance to the 130 year measured temperature record.  Data which doesn’t match to a minimal extent with current temperatures is rejected.  The remaining data sets are averaged together (often using very strange techniques) to create a final signal.

Climate Change, A Manufactured Consensus (Follow the money baby)

Posted by Jeff Id on September 1, 2008

I became interested in global warming years ago. I was concerned about its effects and what we could do about it. I am an engineer so I started with the science, reading, studying and understanding numerous scientific papers and reports. It didn’t take long before I began to quesition the conclusions and started looking deeper into the data. I became a Skeptic.

Ten things Everyone Should Know About Climate Change Science

Posted by Jeff Id on August 30, 2008

  1. The UN organization called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change or IPCC is the prime driver in world government research, recommendations and ultimately policy on climate change.
  2. The IPCC was formed in 1986 by the UN governments for the purpose of understanding the risk of human induced climate change, assessing observed impacts of climate change and methods for adaptation and mitigation of human induced climate change. This is well before human induced climate change had been established.
  3. The IPCC scientists are almost exclusively supported through government contracts which pay for research. The IPCC activities, hotels and travel to exotic locations and drafting authors are paid by government funds. Read the rest of this entry »

Global Warming is Here It is Real and It is Dangerous

Posted by Jeff Id on August 30, 2008

Global warming is a serious issue, we are facing the reality that the poles are melting, species are facing extinction, more powerful storms are possible, drought, famine with billions of dollars in cost expected. It can be helped though, we can stop it, we just need to reduce our CO2 by 30% in 25 years. The non-profit intergovernmental panel on climate change (IPCC) has determined that that we must act now to stop it before it reaches the tipping point.

A Link for Global Warming Skeptics – (Why the IPCC can’t be trusted)

Posted by Jeff Id on August 27, 2008

These guys echo my Independently researched conclusions with regard to the IPCC but have done a much better job laying out the detail.

This is the Policymakers Summary of the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC), an international coalition of scientists convened to provide an independent examination of the evidence available on the causes and consequences of climate change in the published, peer-reviewed literature – examined without bias and selectivity. It includes many research papers ignored by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), plus additional scientific results that became available after the IPCC deadline of May 2006.

The IPCC is pre-programmed to produce reports to support the hypotheses of anthropogenic warming and the control of greenhouse gases, as envisioned in the Global Climate Treaty. The 1990 IPCC Summary completely ignored satellite data, since they showed no warming. The 1995 IPCC report was notorious for the significant alterations made to the text after it was approved by the scientists – in order to convey the impression of a human influence.

How Government Drives the Global Warming Science

Posted by Jeff Id on August 27, 2008

Glaciers are melting, huge storms, drought, CO2 is skyrocketing, sea levels are rising so what are we going to do about it.  Everyone with a clear head is worried about climate and what it will do to our future.  That is exactly what the world governments want.

Why Global Warming Skeptics Believe

Posted by Jeff Id on August 26, 2008

Global warming skeptics are people like me who have a real concern for the environment, yet we feel that the governments of the world are exaggerating even the worst case scenarios for political gain.

– A global warming skeptic believes that the main organization pressing global warming the IPCC (intergovernmental panel on climate control) formed in 1988 would cease to exist if global warming were not true.

Anthropogenic Global Warming #3 – IPCC Global Warming Conclusions

Posted by Jeff Id on August 22, 2008

Ok, now I will show the latest “summary for policy making” document available on the internet and here.  This document is the current IPCC recommendations to the world as to how humankind should address global warming.

Because of the nature of the IPCC discussed in my first and second post, we already know they must have very strong wording in this document.  My article Anthropogenic Global Warming #2 discusses the review process as related to the full report here. Read the rest of this entry »

Anthropogenic Global Waming Story #1 – IPCC

Posted by Jeff Id on August 21, 2008

Ok, this will take a bit. I think each section should be short but make its points. This is a difficult topic and I did research it for a long time without preconceived conclusions.

The IPCC is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and is prime driver in world climate change policy see the definition of their history and mission here.

The reason for the founding of the IPCC is defined in an excerpt from the above link. Read the rest of this entry »
