Hu McCulloch and Michael Mann are but symbols of the times.
The relationship between manipulative, self-centered politicians and manipulative, self-centered scientists is an interesting backdrop to the impending collapse of society from 6-7 decades (1945-2012) of government policies based on irrational fears and unscientific models of reality.
Who manipulated whom as world leaders adopted irrational policies that diminished sovereign rights of nations and constitutional rights of their citizens in order to “protect” us from the:
a. Danger of mutual nuclear annihilation?
b. Natural aggressiveness in humans?
c. Pollution of our environment?
d. Overpopulation of Earth?
e. Global climate change?
In revising the manuscript, “Neutron repulsion” [1] yesterday and putting it in the publisher’s format, I became increasingly aware that fear of the man-made “nuclear fire” that vaporized Hiroshima on 6 Aug 1945 likely triggered events that left us all trapped, like rats on a sinking ship, with the pseudo-scientists and pseudo-leaders of nations that led us aboard!
Neutron repulsion [1] triggers the reactions that create and destroy chemical elements. Neutron repulsion triggers the reactions that power nuclear reactors, nuclear bombs, the Sun, the cosmos, and even life itself. Government policies based on Irrational fear of those reactions culminated in Climategate [2], with no hope for “Green” jobs for employment or star-like H-fusion reactors to meet energy needs.

You are both partially right. We play different roles on the stage of life.
Probably long before you were born, I started seeing fleeting evidence of misinformation in high places without irrefutable documentation of deception.
Since Nov 2009, many others are watching current events that repeat the same old pattern of misinformation without leaving documentable evidence of deception. I am relatively uninterested in those, but still actively trying to tie current events to these historic events that are well documented. [For reasons shown below, I was especially intrigued by the involvement of another official of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in obtaining pilfered material from the Heartland Institute.]
1956: Normal channels of publication were blocked after evidence of natural “Nuclear Fires” on Earth [1,2] were presented at the Spring National Meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in April 1956.
1976: The published schedule of speakers were changed and a Harvard astrophysicist without abstract was inserted into the program ahead of us when Dr. Dwarka Das Sabu and I arrived at the Spring National Meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in April 1976 to present evidence of local synthesis of our elements in the Sun [3].
1995-1998: NASA hid xenon isotope data from Jupiter that confirmed evidence from Apollo lunar samples of solar mass fractionation and a solar neutron-rich core [4].

2. Did I study Hu’s post in detail? No
3. Why not? Society is in collapse; I am in a hurry to collect documentable evidence that will confirm or contradict these causes:
_a.) The vaporization of Hiroshima on 6 Aug 1945*;
_b.) Increased fear of mutual nuclear annihilation after the 1962* Cuban missile crisis;
_c.) Fear-based international agreements in 1971-72* to “save society” by ending the nuclear arms race and the space race and uniting nations against a common enemy: “Global Climate Change;” and
_d.) An alliance of frightened scientists and world leaders working together “to save society” by formulating and adopting policies based on controllable computer models, whether or not the computer models agree with experimental observations (1972-present*).
1945* – I had completed the 2nd grade. The nuclear scientist that would become my research mentor was on the faculty at the Imperial University of Tokyo (Dr. Kazuo Kuroda). He was sent to Hiroshima to find out what happened. Later the US military relocated Kuroda to the US. He brought secret Japanese plans for building an atomic bomb with him.
1962* – I was a graduate student working under the direction of Dr. Paul Kazuo Kuroda at the University of Arkansas and Dr. John H. Reynolds at the University of California – Berkeley. I was a hippie, pacificist and totally uninterested in studying the secret Japanese plans for building an atomic bomb. Kuroda’s published papers [J. Chem. Phys. 25, 781 and 1295 (1956)] demonstrated an understanding of the self-sustaining nuclear fission process that was second to none.
1971-72* – I was a faculty member at the University of Missouri and a Principal Investigator for Apollo. Experimental data from meteorites, lunar and terrestrial samples confirmed the common presence of “live” iodine-129 and plutonium-244 in fresh stellar debris that formed the solar system, poorly mixed xenon isotopes that had been made by different nucleosynthesis reactions (r-, p- and s-processes of B2FH), and severe mass fractionation (~9-theoretical stages) across stable isotopes of xenon.
1972-present* – Experimental data accumulated that showed local synthesis of the chemical elements, their ejection from the Sun about five billion years (5 Gyr) ago, an iron-rich interior of the Sun, and a pulsar core heated by neutron repulsion. I could not understand why government scientists so vehemently opposed the data-based conclusion.
Now I am motivated by Climategate e-mails, documents (Nov 2009), official responses, and society’s demise.
1972* – Experimental observations made by the French Atomic Energy Commission confirmed the “nuclear fires” (natural nuclear reactors) that Kuroda had predicted in 1956 and managed to publish as two, single page documents [J. Chem. Phys. 25, 781 and 1295 (1956)].

Kuroda had been publicly scolded from the podium at the 1956 AGU meeting for reporting calculations that Enrico Fermi thought to be impossible. Later Kuroda published several papers on the “Pre-Fermi” reactors that synthesized chemical elements in nuclear fires on the earth.

My recollection of the incident is that Hu acted ethically and reasonably on the points under discussion yet, in my opinion, your wording can be read that, in some way, you see him as one of the “manipulative, self-centered scientists” you are so concerned about. You may be in a hurry but I think you should take care with your posts. As Mark T points out you have a tendancy to thread bomb and FWIW I think you should reign that in a bit and double check things a bit more.

I did not say, and I did not intend to imply, that both parties in endless bickering are “manipulative, self-centered scientists.” However endless bickering, without documentable evidence needed to change the system, is a “symbol of the times.”
11 – I don’t think Hu was involved in “endless bickering”. I think he was making a courteous scientific enquiry and he has provided documentary evidence that this was the case.
